I got a new tattoo

The tattoo is on my calve and i got it done at Cicatrix in the Castro. Its a tattoo of a Prussian Eagle which is special to me for many reasons including my family heritage. I fuckin love it!

Dj Spencer Reed

As most of you know i have been Dj'ing lately at me and Christian Owens party Dads and Lads. Everyone seems to love my music style and most find it refreshing to the typical style of gay scene Dj's which tends to be very commercial. I always stays true to my style and never go anywhere near top 40 remixes.

A little about my experience as a Dj. Even though i consider myself new to Dj'ing i have been mixing for about 6 years now. I learned back in college by teaching myself on Vinyl records which really help me understand the logistics behind beat matching and mixing tracks. A very good friend of mine in DC then helped me sharpen my skills and transition over to other mixing platforms like CDJ players. He has a very similar style as me and we would often spend hours upon hours tag team mixing for fun and private parties. I never played in clubs or bars till now so that is why i say im new.

My style is mostly tribal but i enjoy house, deep house, progressive, minimal and some tech. Most of the DJ that inspire me come from Spain mainly Madrid and Portugal. The style of music there is known as Iberican made popular by Dj's Chus and Ceballos. I like deep and melodic to dark and hard. Most people would think my style is only for afterhours but that is not true. I tend to make a journey out of my sets taking you from one place to another.

With that i leave you my first Official Podcast. It is a little rough and has some sketchy transition points in the beginning but it smooths out and ends very nicely. I like it though and think its a good representation of what you will here me play live. So i hope you enjoy and please leave your feedback.
